Community Outreach & Education

Connecting our communities to the wonders of Biscayne Bay and surrounding waterways in Miami-Dade and Broward is one of our top priorities.

We are proud to host a variety of community outreach activities and programs around the watershed.

Our signature programs include:

  • Miami Waterkeeper Junior Ambassadors: Our Junior Ambassador program trains the next generation of environmental stewards through leadership, communication, civic engagement, and advocacy skills acquired through real-world experience.
  • 1,000 Eyes on The Water Program: 1,000 Eyes on the Water trains community members to identify, document, and report pollution issues.
  • Day on the Bay: Our Day on the Bay program is a boat tour program for community leaders.
  • Water Quality Monitoring: Our water quality monitoring program samples the water at recreational beach sites and analyzes fecal indicator bacteria (FIB) levels every week.
